Welcome back, everyone! I’m so glad you’ve returned for Workout Two of our 28-Day Beginner Challenge. If you’re reading this, it means you’ve shown great commitment by getting your workout gear back on. Fantastic job! Today, we’ve got a 15-minute workout lined up, featuring 15 different exercises. We’ll work each move for 30 seconds with a 30-second rest. Remember, go at your own pace—modify or skip any exercise that doesn’t feel right for you.

First, let’s dive into a quick warm-up to get our bodies ready. Start by reaching your arms out to the sides and gently trying to touch your toes—or knees or shins if you can’t quite get down there yet. This movement not only helps to loosen up your spine but also opens up your shoulders, which is essential for today’s workout.

  • Hands out to the side, twist gently while reaching down.
  • Knee raises to create space in the hips—lift those knees up high!
  • A stretch for your hamstrings: As you touch your toes, reach your arms up to the sky.
  • Warm up those shoulders with circles—small to big and then switch directions.
  • Lastly, let’s prepare the legs for action with some slow squats. Sit back into a squat, hold for three seconds, then rise. Repeat a couple of times.

With our bodies warmed up, we’re ready to start the workout! Get those knees up while marching on the spot—it’s a fabulous way to elevate your heart rate. If you feel like jogging or sprinting, go ahead! But if you want to keep it low-impact, marching works just fine. Remember, the key here is to enjoy the movement.

Next, we’ll engage in some classic jumping jacks—known as star jumps in some places. Modify them by stepping side-to-side if jumping isn’t for you. Every rep counts!

As we get further into the workout, keep in mind how you feel. You might find that exercise not only enhances your physical health but also uplifts your mood. I’m a parent of three, and I can vouch for how getting your heart pumping helps with stress relief and makes you feel more calm and centered. It’s about feeling good, not just looking good.

Let’s keep that energy flowing with lateral squats. As we squat down to the right and back to the left, remember not to let your knees buckle in. This exercise is excellent for stability and strength in your hips.

Now for power knees! With your right leg back, bring your knee up towards your hands to create that long line from your back leg to your standing leg. Think about engaging your core as you do this. Switch to the left as you feel the balance shift. Core stability is crucial—this is also where we build strength.

Are you feeling it yet? It’s incredible how quickly 15 minutes can pass when you’re focused on moving. Let’s move on to reverse lunges—step back and create a beautiful 90-degree angle with your knees. It’s about control, so don’t rush. And if you find yourself off-balance, try extending your arms for stability.

Next, let’s lay down for a glute bridge. As you lift your hips, squeeze your glutes at the top. This exercise is amazing for targeting the posterior chain and activating the muscles at the back of your body that we often neglect.

Time for a plank! Drop to your knees if you need to, and focus on forming a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. Engage your core by pulling your belly button towards your spine. You’re building strength with each second here. If you need to modify, feel free to rest or adjust to a high plank if you’re feeling strong!

Now we face push-ups. I know—these can be tough. But remember, start small. Instead of going all the way down, try a half-rep or even practice bending your elbows a little. Every step counts, and you’ll build that strength over time.

After push-ups, we’re going for lateral shuffles! This is your chance to really pick up the pace, so move side to side, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try touching the floor each time. It’s such a good way to get that heart rate flying!

Next, get ready for some straight punches! You can stay grounded or hop left and right to add some dynamism. After that, we’ll smash those knees again for some extra cardio, lifting your knee straight up into your hands.

Our last two exercises include sumo squats—widen those feet, and make sure your knees drive outward as you squat—and a fun rope climb. Either jog or march, really reach high with your hands. We’re in the final stretch!

Lastly, let’s wrap up with some shuffles and uppercuts to bring our session to a joyful conclusion. You’ve done an incredible job pushing through today! With just 15 minutes, you’ve accomplished so much.

As always, make sure to stretch afterward, hydrate, and take good care of yourself. Remember, each workout is a step on your journey to a healthier, more energized you. I look forward to seeing you for Workout Three. Take care, everyone!
